This course aim to inform students about contemporary theories regarding social action, social being and,mainly, social dynamics. The emphasis is given to non-linearity, unpredictability, bottom-up procedures and emerging complexity.

We present a short history of simulation methodology in social sciences. In the second section of the course, students are introduced to the H.E.S.I.O.D. project.
